OUR STORY

     Rainbow Bridge Pet Crematory is a small family owned business, established in June of 2017.

It is owned and operated by myself, Christine Johnson-Boakes,

along with the help of my husband, Keith Boakes.

We are located in the beautiful little town of Mays Landing NJ,

along the scenic Great Egg Harbor River.

    

     Opening a pet crematory was not even a thought of mine growing up. What I did have was a love for animals from a very young age.

I lived on a small family farm consisting of goats, rabbits, chickens, and of course always a stray dog or cat

who never failed to find their forever home at our house.

I have to thank my parents for never saying no to any animal in need that I happened to bring home...even down to the injured pigeons!

Belonging to the 4H Goat Club brings to mind so many wonderful memories. It really helped to nurture my interest in animals and nature.  Over the years, my fascination and love for animals

has always remained.

    

In 2013, I married my husband Keith Boakes.

Together we share our home with  four teenagers, and our pets:

Daisy, Kitty, Dexter and my flock of chickens. 

Keith has served our community for many years at Boakes Funeral Home. It is a family business in Mays Landing, established in 1960. 

It takes a special person to deal with families under such heartbreaking circumstances, but watching Keith do so with such care and compassion, has always been an inspiration to me.

    

We both know first hand, the heartbreak of losing a pet. 

They give you  a lifetime of love, devotion, and loyalty,

and their lives are cut way too short.

So when the opportunity arose to start

Rainbow Bridge Pet Crematory, the timing was right,

and it seemed like a perfect fit.

    As a result of our experiences,

we saw the need to offer this service in our community. 

We will make it our mission to treat your pets with the same respect and dignity that we do for our own.
